Single piece cork, no sign of seepage. Level excellent No decanting, no sediment. Tasted on first evening.
V: translucent ruby Nose: strawberries and a bit of damp soil.
Bright, slight tartness, sapid, mouthwatering finish. Simple strawberry fruit. Slight fizz. Interesting and delicious rather than complex. A bit short.
Drink or hold to 2028, no upside anticipated. Delicious now. 13%abv

I consumed this bottle in 3 days distributed over 5, skipping days 2 and 3. This rating pertains to days 4 and 5 exclusively, as day 1 was an 88 perhaps. The rest of my TN could be a copy of my last one from 2018, except than anything untoward in there would have to be subtracted.
I conclude that one would probably be well advised to brutally decant the wine one or two days ahead of consumption. PnP seems a bit of a waste. Under said caveat, this is a very correct if basic Spätburgunder.
Tilled earth and forest berries on the nose. Bright acidity at first, but it settles over the first evening. More earthy and some ferrous notes juxtaposed with snappy crunchy forest berry fruit and some red licorice. Mid weighted, well balanced if not the end all in finesse. Solid if not inspiring Spatburgunder. Decent value.

Light body almost with an effervescence. Dark fruit in the tongue early. Not much finish. Served it at cellar temperature and I think that helped it given its light texture and finish. Not a bad hit summer red. Would be interested to see how it develops with some cellar time. Hopefully will gain some more depth.

Good but quite fruity juicy still, strawberry etc. I would give it a few years.
