  • Not surprisingly youthful and showing oh-so-much energy! Smoky, succulent nose. Slightly sweet but with smooth acidity, restrained power and great length. Very polished wine that clearly will last. Yum.

Medium fyldig.

8.5% vol.

  • Same impression as last bottle, equally impressive.

  • Pretty nose of white tropical fruit of exceptional quality. Light but serious, flowers, mellow citrus notes, fraction of petroleum. So fresh. Also some rocky minerals in the background. The palate carefully weighs every single step, perfect harmony between fruit, acidity and sweetness. 8,5% is of course invisible. Would call the aftertaste medium long if I was forced to. Well, this was pretty much all praise but I simply can't find anything I dislike with this wine. The obvious thing is the youth but it drinks wonderfully already, with time it will gain in weight and complexity and age with grace. Stunning spätlese from the steep Schubertslay.

  • Floral and clean on the nose. No petrol. Superbly pure and detailed on the palate. Mild citrus, flowers, and honey. Vibrant acidity. Good length and complexity. Excellent balance. Exceptional bottle of Spatlese. One of the best bottles of '15 German Riesling tasted so far. Certainly right up there with '15 Willi Schaefer Graacher Domprobst Spatlese. Schaefer has better complexity and higher viscosity while this is more pure and refined. Different in style but both are delicious. ABV 8.5%. Sweetness 2/4. Supposedly sugar level reaches Auslese but certainly doesn't taste like it.
