20x Burgundy 2014 - 10 years on: We tasted 16 reds (all blind) and 4 whites (non-blind). Some observations: 1) True to the vintage, most wines showed fresh, with medium+ complexity, a bright fruit profile but still a bit of rusticity here and there. 2) The tannins will have to melt further, and age should bring a bit more complexity. But my guess is, only the top wines will have enough stuffing to age gracefully for an extended period of time. 3) It’s not a highest-quality vintage and hence true gems are confined to the Grand Cru tier, with lesser crus offering little excitement. 4) The wines were surprisingly open and ready, although the best wines all got time in the decanter.
TN: Initially muted on the nose, this wine gradually opens up, revealing the purest strawberry fruit at its core. The palate offers an explosion of flavors, including ripe red berries, blue fruit, earthy minerality, and sous bois. As time passes, more red fruit takes center stage, becoming increasingly pure and intriguing, with new nuances revealed with each sip. The structure is impeccable, featuring a wall of ultra-fine tannins that need more time to soften, superb freshness, and a lot of tension. This wine is not ready today but shows immense promise. I would wait another decade to fully enjoy its potential.
Decanting: Decanted for an hour which was not enough, it improved markedly in the glass with further air.

2014 Burgundy 10years on, tasted blind: Similar aroma profile to the Chapelle, attractive whole cluster notes combined with red fruit. Feels more closed and slightly denser. Elegant palate, mineral finish. Still very young, with impressive material underneath, authoritative. Could surpass the Chapelle with a few more years in bottle. Best after 2029. Group Rank 4/16

Mystery wine evening (@Private location): *** only for my memory, no detailed note or rating *** Glass: Spiegelau Definition Bordeaux Tasted double blind. Green, herbaceous notes, very tart, dense and young. Needs quite some time to develop. Will drink my bottle in a decade.

Wild strawberry with high acidity mixed with earth tones giving the impression of drier currents or cranberries.
Lighter hue and lighter bodied than expected.
Needs at least 20-30 minutes to open up and let the balance showcase itself. At first it was more pure acid, let it breath a little
Very nice and light, more acidic fruit than other notes

During lunch at Trapet in Gevrey-Chambertin with Chevaliers friends: Fruit driven, some richness and roundness, background acidity, limited length.
