Breathtaking 11 years on. Still ruby-red and just beginning its entry into the tertiary phase. Somehow combines a silky, oily mouthfeel with a light body, all offset by good acidity.

A mild whiff of roses upon opening, which quickly dissipated. This is really a very simple wine - tart cherry juice. I would have guessed a high-altitude, undistinguished Sangiovese if tasted blind. I expected otherwise, obviously.

Light ruby red. Promising nose of roses, mild sous bois. Light red fruits on palate, with ample acidity. But the palate doesn't blossom as the nose does, it has no middle and no finish. This, at 10 years of age, is much simpler than I'd hoped.

This needed every bit of 4 hours of decanting. The last glass at 4 hours (after 8 hours total) was the best. Definitely utilize aggressive aeration if popping this mid-term beauty now.
Young. Tasty, mountain red berry, sharp acidity, and fine tannins. Elegance and lightness. Good potential to improve with age. My view is that artisanal Oregon Pinot Noir made with stems is best with a decade-plus. This bottle is just in the John Thomas minimum of 8 years past harvest.
