Nice round nose of dark cherries, blueberries, strawberries, vanilla, and baking spices. Medium bodied, thick, waning acidity, and mostly resolved tannins. Palate follows the nose with a bit of dark minerals added. A bit of tannic grip on the back of the tongue adds the much needed structure for me. Long finish - dark minerals, black tea spiced with some cloves, vanilla, touch of cocoa, and a touch of orange peel haloed buy tart zin berries. There's a bit of a tobacco leafiness at the end, but overwhelmed by the fruit.
This just barely eeks out a 90pt score. This is much better on day 2 than after opening. Overall this is good but it feels like something is missing from it. Maybe I expect more layers from a 2014.
With that said, still well worth the $30ish hammer price at auction.

Deep ruby color. Spicy red and blue fruit on the nose. Medium-plus body, medium acid, medium-low tannins. Thick blue/red fruit on the palate: raspberries, blueberries, cranberry sauce; joined by tobacco and a hint of cedar on the finish. Would be excellent with a grilled ribeye.

No longer a purple fruit bomb, this has matured into a darker red wine. Very little fruit remaining, it now shows savory, stemmy, spicy notes and not much else. Unremarkable.

Deep ruby. Pronounced nose of blue fruits and tobacco. Medium acidity medium alcohol full body. Blueberries and blackberries. Short finish. Similar to previous notes. I tend to think/hope this is just in a closed down phase and maybe will reward a few more years in the cellar.

TNs from Day 2. Day 1 didn't impress us.

Many Dudes, Much Carignan, some Mourvedre, Side of Brett (George-fucking-town): Very dark purple. Rocks and blue fruit, some heat on the nose. Palate has black fruit and tons of structure, black rocks, tannin. Eventually finds its way to a plush roundness and some more black and blue fruit peak out.
My #5, Group #8
