I opened this for our 10/12/18 game night. It had a rich, deep, fragrant bouquet of black currant, black cherry, blackberry, smoke, licorice and spice aromas. The palate was rich, ripe and dry with flavors of black currant, black cherry, blackberry, licorice, spice and minerals.

Hard to know what to make of this. It's a big wine - sweet tannins, cassis, bakers chocolate. Almost overwhelming. Even at 6 years of age I can't tell if it's going to mellow into elegance or fall apart. But it's good right now with food - hardly a sipping wine. Quite a beautiful nose of blue flowers, cassis and something sweet that I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe it's vanilla - new oak barrels. I slow-ox'd all day and even at that, the wine tightened then opened up in the glass over 3 hours. Drying tannins on the finish. Nothing disagreeable, just hard to put my finger on what's going on - on the way up or on the way down? Don't know.

Big bouquet, initially cassis and blackberry on the mouth, tannins are smoothing out, long finish. Needs at least an hour to begin to open up. This wine will continue to evolve over the next 5+ years. A great wine from this small winery.

Full bodied with herbs, oak and dark red fruit. Not a lot of depth, but delicious.
