In the decanter an hour prior to drinking, which it needed to burn off initial tartness, and drank over the next 90 mins or so. Been 3 years since I last had one of these, a punt in an online auction. Not disappointed by any means. Big, soft black fruits with an edge of sweetness. It is dense, full bodied and mouth coating, and super delicious. Finish is probably medium to + at best, but that isnt much of a detraction to overall enjoyment. Drink up if you any. Enjoyed this, bit of nostalgia here for me. Went beautifully with wagyu marble 7 rump cap.

Popped and poured, 20 minutes in the glass. Wow, fresh, lots of dark fruit without becoming to heavy or too sweet. Limited spiciness. mouth filling, long finish. Fantastic, Probably at its peak now? I am happy that I saved this bottle for many years.

Drank alongside Old Vine 03 and Bogan 04. Like the Bogan, this never really appeared to open up, teasing along the way with false starts. A classic Western Barossa, black fruits, bramble, cassis and undertones of red fruit coming through. More fruit intense and less brambly then the Bogan, but not by much. Shame it never quite shone tonight but thoroughly enjoyed nevertheless. Still holding strong, will keep for a few years yet easy enough.

(KAESLER OLD VINE) Grab Bag Dear Friends, I suppose this could have been a second Friday Special (it seems we've had two lately) or a "free for all" special but let's call it a grab bag of interesting wine, most at prices that are eye-opening indeed. All are directly from the source with perfect provenance. Have a good weekend everyone - new TN's out next week and an update on the website chat room (we're getting close). - Jon Rimmerman 2006 Anselmet "Muller Thurgau" (bianco) This is an insane price - usually line-priced with the Chardonnay. 2004/2006 Anselmet "Petit Rouge" STRICT LIMIT 3/person Think the Le Prisonnier is interesting? Deep red, needs decant to open up. Nice well rounded full body Shiraz. Dark plums, blackberries and hint of liquorice.
