Primitivo riserva di carattere molto tradizionale e schietto. Lasciare ossigenare bene, al principio presenta qualche riduzione. Bel naso dolce e caldo, piacevole e pulito, spiccano cioccolata fondente, composta di prugne e spezie dolci. Bocca più rustica e meno pulita ed armoniosa, a tratti amaricante, ma molto saporosa e dinamica, bella secca e salina, con una acidità ancora molto marcata: vino molto più snello in bocca di quel che ci si aspetterebbe. Primitivo molto buono ed atipico (o per lo meno atipico per il panorama dei Primitivi pugliesi odierni).

Italian Blinds with Alex and the crew (The Presidio, SF): (blind) Medium minus ruby color, slight orange at the rim. Fascinating nose - perfumed, sweet, dried flowers. - Oolong tea! - Slight Brett - fur. - Slight raisinated red cherry - millerandage?
Palate: - dry - medium bodied - high alcohol - feels 14.5% (actually 15%) - fresh elevated acid - medium tannins - well-melted and slightly bitter. Fresh fruit - exuberant - with some development. Indian spices - cumin, cardamom, sage, bay leaf. Probably some neutral oak elevage - it has an integration, slight savory wilting to the fruit.
Not sure what this is... but maybe circa 2007 given the development?
Actually: 2005 Primitivo Riserva It's Zinfandel/Primitivo! - That explains the millerandage.

Stewed red fruits, brett, sous-bois, cloves, chocolate, high alcohol. Well-tamed tannins wound up into a wild black plum core.
