Deep, rich amber in color. Wine diamonds are prevalent. Loads of ripe stone fruit. Honey, ripe yellow apples. Remnants of scidity still there. Tastes like the nose. Medium-minus finish. Sweetie, but not too sweet. Very nice, and Britt friendly.

Wine tasting and dinner with Sofia Thanisch at Corney & Barrow HO, London. With dinner. Deepest colour of evening (translucent gold). Pure crystalline pineapple, a touch of ?cola. Spice. Smidgeon of honey - the only wine on show to have even a hint of botrytis. Viscous, some feeling of heat on tongue; the whole brought into focus with what seems to be Thanisch's trade mark acidity (along with their 1901 registered trade mark "C"s in Bern[k]asteler Do[k]tor!). Concentrated and superb. Should be good for at least 25 years from vintage with this structure. Should evolve interestingly - although probably not improve further.

Gold coloured with a ripe peach filled, almost toffee-like nose. Lovely creamy texture with layers of pear and melon fruit. Slightly less sweet than expected, the fruit is ripe but not luscious.
