A poor representation of Petite Sirah, even at the price point. This doesn’t have any of the strong and “in your face” characteristics that you’d expect from this grape varietal. Instead, I was surprised that it tasted like an extremely syrupy Cabernet.
Boo. Cooking wine.

Nose of burnt cherry pie. Typical of this grape, it's a bold grapey drink that would please anyone who doesn't need a lot of complexity. You'd not want to serve this with a fine meal, but spag-bol or lasagne or anything laden with garlic would pair just fine with this decent plonk. Which kind of makes it a little overpriced at ten bucks. Totally safe bottle to bring to a pot luck or party situation, as it goes down easy. I had this with clean-out-the-fridge leftovers night (corn on the cob, kielbasa, muhammara and crudités, Chinese long beans, salad w vinaigrette) and it held up. Uninteresting but inoffensive grape kool-aid for adults.

Nice everyday drinker - typical PS rich, full-bodied.

A good everyday drinking PS, though not as good as the previous bottle.

Good fruit (cherries mostly), low tannins, dark color.
