  • this was spectacular with veal piccata. Has opened way up over 5 yrs. So mature now

  • Acquired on Auction: Clear semi-transparent garnet/rust color with slight bricking at rim. Intense nose, can smell outside the glass. Perfumed aromas of cedar, licorice, figs, and roses. A lot going on here with hints of chocolate and vanilla. Mouthfeel is medium full with good acidity and still heavy tannins. Finish is long plum, cedar, and a bit hot. Quality wine with tread left on the tires. Try again in couple years.

  • Clear mostly opaque ruby to garnet core with very slight bricking at the rim. Healthy nose with red and dark fruit aromas along with chocolate and coffe note. Medium to full body with solid tannin, acidity, and fruit remaining. Long finish with chocolate and coffee finish. High quality wine likely from small to medium production. Drinking well now but should cellar for another 3-5 yrs.

  • Maroon/Garnett with brown hues. Rich color. Moderately Opaque and limpid. Bouquet is beautiful. Raspberry and cherry but also has some perfumed darker fruit notes that aren't typical to me for a Brunello. I like it though. My wife was fooled in thinking there might be some cab. Palatte is rich and silky. Lush fruit but not fruity. Wine is dry with hints of soft spice and fine leather. Not the cowboy saddle leather but more milan fashion scene. The wine is really well balanced. Moderately hot I would think and supple tannins. Finish holds together well and lingers nicely. This wine also has a great mouthfeel. It doesn't pick on one taste center but rather coats and soothes the whole palate.

  • PnP and let sit for a couple of minutes. A fair bit of volatile blow off. Cherry, black cherry and plum. A bit cool coming out of storage. Medium tannin with an astringent note. Medium acid leaving a neutral to slightly mouth-drying finish. Probably needs to breathe for awhile. Color is mostly ruby red with some purple at the center and very little to no orange at the edge. A bit out of balance and hot even after 15-20 minutes. One of us thought this was rich, balanced and a pretty good Brunello. Notes of vanilla appearing later. The other thought this was hot and somewhat out of balance. Definitely improved after a couple of hours, so I would open the next bottle earlier.
