Palate is ripe with crisp, tart red fruit; cherry, cranberry. Savoury sandy character more obvious here, with finely gritty medium tannins, largely grape-derived (entire production was aged in one 2700l French vat). So, minimal oak, medium/high acidity, giving it a real lift. It’s almost medium-bodied, dry and crisp and almost astringent, but without a lot of presence beyond the mid-palate. Medium length finish. Pretty decent, a cut above a quaffed, true to Hunter tradition (the good ones).
