Sunday, September 18, 2022 - Deep ruby in colour, the lifted aromas are pure and fresh with clean notes of herb, iris and black currant. A touch of mint, bay leaf and sage add intrigue, as does some spicy but measured oak.
Gorgeous entry, medium-bodied with a soft, smooth texture (has a sheen). There is a width to the mid-palate that displays sweet fruits, but this is tamed by bright, tingling acidity. The mid-palate is juicy and Eden with freshly picked blackcurrants with a few blackberries and blueberries thrown in. Reasonably complex, the wine exhibits layers of flavour and seamless tannin and yet has a fine-grained touch to support the structure. A long finish with spice and a minty farewell.,
A well-crafted wine, it is correct and beautifully framed but unwilling to let out all the secrets yet!
