Wednesday, September 6, 2017 - PnP and let sit for a couple of minutes. A fair bit of volatile blow off. Cherry, black cherry and plum. A bit cool coming out of storage. Medium tannin with an astringent note. Medium acid leaving a neutral to slightly mouth-drying finish. Probably needs to breathe for awhile. Color is mostly ruby red with some purple at the center and very little to no orange at the edge. A bit out of balance and hot even after 15-20 minutes. One of us thought this was rich, balanced and a pretty good Brunello. Notes of vanilla appearing later. The other thought this was hot and somewhat out of balance. Definitely improved after a couple of hours, so I would open the next bottle earlier.
