95 Points

Wednesday, February 27, 2019 - Medium to dark crimson, somewhat translucent, with light bricking. Powerful and pure expression of Saint-Joseph Syrah. Showing minimal, if any, pickling spice and mincemeat notes that tend to reflect the place. Otherwise, strong red fruits (pomegranate and tangy red berries), effusive pepper (including white pepper), artisan soap, construction site, rust dust, clay, kelp, and charcuterie. The wine should continue evolving over the next five to seven years and last for another five to seven thereafter, perhaps longer. Outstanding!
