Saturday, December 30, 2017 - At first the nose was very smoky and black olive-y, but it evolved pretty quickly with air and became this much more floral and fruit-driven thing, but never delicate, with power and drive, and surrounded by the rustic brambly and olive scents. The nose is complex and just gorgeous. The palate is not as ready yet, or perhaps the palate has gone to sleep and the nose is not yet asleep. This is clearly an excellent wine, with fantastic raw material and a good feel to it. Seems like it should be left alone for a while longer.
