Saturday, September 17, 2016 - Opened last night. Ruby with slight lightening at the rim. Very different aromas than the 2012-here smoke, cured meat, and a boatload of herbs. Deceptively approachable, but firmly structured like Hermitage or Cornas. Black fruit, quite mineral, very complex due to all of the herb elements, and then the tannins close things down on the finish. Outstanding bottle with some development but tremendous potential over at least the next 5 years.
