Sunday, June 3, 2012 - Decanted about 3 hours. A wild, wonderfully complex nose with all kinds of stuff going on: gamey, floral, crushed granite, blackberry fruit in there somewhere. In hte mouth it is medium to light in body but with a complete mid-palate, and it's savoury with the fruit in the background and the meaty and rocky elements dominating. Very elegant with quite a bit of fuzzy tannin that mutes the fruit a bit, and sneaky-good length. Especially good with grilled beef, which smooths out the tannin a bit and helps the fruit come out more. I liked this a lot but was not quite wowed in the way others seem to have been.
