Thursday, March 30, 2023 - Nez très charmeur de violettes et de fruits noirs, quelques notes d’olives.
Malgré une belle texture, la bouche est terne, presque muette, manquant d’éclat pour suivre un tel nez. Plusieurs heures de carafe ne changeront pas les choses. Les tanins sont fins, la texture agréable, mais on cherche le fruit derrière la mâche.
Je suis peut-être sévère mais je n’ai pas trouvé dans un vieux Gonon le plaisir que ces vins offrent en jeunesse. 89-90 pts

4/3/2023 12:49:00 AM - The bottles of the 2010 I’ve opened have been uncharacteristically varied for Gonon but have included one fabulous bottle before a more recent one similar to yours. The Gonons tore up all (or at least a significant number) of their clones between the 2010 and 2011 harvests and by contrast I’ve found the 2011 St-Joseph to be consistently wonderful. The 2010 was also deprived of what went into the VV, made that vintage.
