Sunday, August 21, 2022 - Beautiful perfume when I pulled the cork. Roses, tar, licorice, a little cherry candy / slight medicinal, really nice. I then double decanted 4-5 hours before serving later in the evening and that was probably a mistake because the wine was very closed down all throughout a long dinner. PnP was probably best bet, or opening the day before, or the wine is just closing down (which other notes don’t really seem to indicate). First bottle in close to a couple years I think and this definitely didn’t put on the same show my last one did.

8/21/2022 2:45:00 PM - Sadly, I think most 2016 B&Bs are closing down. They've drank so well young but it's probably for the best that they shut down now, as they'll make stunning aged wines, but only if we actually age them. I know I've been guilty of drinking them young while they drank well. Had the same experience with a 2016 Azelia Friday night, another wine which drank amazingly young but is now closed down. If I'm smart I'll sit on the remaining case for at least another 10-15 years before checking in again. Same for my 2016 Produttori. Though I believe I have two bottles of the Nebbiolo Langhe left somewhere to check in on before too long.
