Sunday, May 15, 2022 - This is still very primary, and I would consider to be not quite ready, especially without lots of air. No signs of aging on appearance, very nice pale ruby/garnet in colour. Nose is big, contains fresh strawberries and red cherries, with some tea leaf notes, and a hint of tar. Delicate, and bright on the palate, high acid, grippy tannins, and fresh red fruit takes centre. Very well balanced.
Was curious what all the fuss is about, which I think is warranted if this is your kind of thing. I’ll try not to open more for at least another 3 years, waiting for those tertiary notes to appear. I highly suggest holding if you’ve only got a few as this can only get better. Paired with tagliatelle and bolognese ragú. These wines are made for food!
