Thursday, January 6, 2022 - A complete, elegant wine from one of the better recent years, a year with plenty of ripeness, but, in this time of global warming, would now be classified as a classic vintage, not a hot year.
Bright red with a darkish tinge. Fresh nose. Delicious palate featuring juicy red fruit with nice complexity due to the additional notes of dried red fruit, a savouriness and ferrous-like minerality. Absolutely gorgeous wine that screams Burgundy. Such a great balance between fruit that is perfectly ripen without a hint of overripeness and the brightness you expect from Burgundy, although the ripe fruit is more than sufficient to make it enjoyably on many levels, from cerebral to hedonistic.
