Tuesday, April 13, 2021 - This was interesting. I've heard pinots can take on a scent of manure, but I've never fully experienced it until now. It was in the middle of my second glass that the entire wine took on an intense aroma of horse manure. It was so strong I had my wife confirm it because I thought I was going crazy. The scent lasted a good ten minutes before developing into a more wholesale scent of horse manure with straw, before finally giving way to stewed red fruits. The palette was better, with red raspberries and some blueberries and strawberries. Balanced, with a brief finish. I like the 2016 better, but this was pretty good.
