93 Points

Saturday, November 28, 2020 - The same bottle tasted in June, over two days.

Consistent with previous note...with a noteworthy exception.

Fresh and lifted, high-pitched, high tension, precise. All elements work together in overt harmony. The bouquet and taste profile are positively delicious!

As previously noted, compared to previous vintages, this leans heavily toward the red-fruited and lively side. This noted, it does not best the 2008 or 2010 vintages. Similar in profile to a hybrid 2011 and 2014. This label in all vintages, of course, delivers off-the-chain QPR!

The aforementioned exception proved a bit disappointing. The wine did not budge off of its initial presentation after two days of air. It revealed nothing deeper or more intriguing. The standout 2010 vintage, for example, turns deeper, with greatly expanded range, as it breathes. For this reason, while beautiful, and by all measurable standards, excellent!, I am downgrading the score to 93, from 94.
