85 Points

Saturday, January 26, 2019 - 11% alcohol, 14 g/l residual sugar and 6,0 g/l acidity. Tasted blind in VV.

Medium-deep yellow-green color. Vibrant, sweetish and slightly floral nose with aromas of zesty citrus fruits, some apple blossom, a little bit of honeycomb, light sappy herbal tones and a hint of spicy red apple. The wine is off-dry, fresh and medium-to-moderately full-bodied on the palate with flavors of lemony citrus fruits, some floral notes of apple blossom and other white flowers, a little bit of apple peel bitterness, light stony mineral tones and a hint of herbal spice. The high acidity lends good sense of structure to the wine, but somehow not much intensity to the taste, which comes across as a bit light and thin. The finish is long, refreshing and quite acid-driven with light, medium-dry flavors of zesty citrus, some lemon marmalade, a little bit of perfumed floral character and a hint of apple peel bitterness.

A nice, fresh and balanced feinherb Riesling that is lacking a bit in intensity and vibrancy of fruit. Not a bad wine, but ultimate feels a bit dilute. Enjoyable, but nothing special to write home about. Priced somewhat according to its quality at 14,98€.
