Monday, May 6, 2024 - Like every bottle from Chinon, and most CabFranc’s in general, this had some aromas of a recently abandoned outhouse in the Loire. That nastiness fades in time, and then it smells like a long abandoned outhouse in the Loire.
The wine itself tastes great! Chalky tannins and nice acidity temper the tobacco and bell peppers, and what shines through in the end is bright red fruits and a promise of even better things to come in a decade.
