Friday, March 1, 2024 - PnP. Dark berry fruit, black cherry, earth, some forest floor. Has the Cameron funk, but it's in more of a supporting role than an overwhelming character. I was only able to get a single bottle of this when it came out (and it's only the second vintage of the Ribbon Ridge cuvee), so I figured it was smarter to open it a bit early than waiting too long. This is drinking well, but it can clearly go several more years. I kjust a touch of alcohol warmth now the Cameron Dundee Hills wines far better, but this does have the darker fruit you expect in Ribbon Ridge and the Cameron house style. Medium body, medium acidity, integrated tannins, there's a tiny bit of what seem like alcohol warmth in the finish, but the label only says 12.9%. Overall, this is a delightful wine that shows the Ribbon Ridge character and likely would be best in a few more years, but it's also a terrific right now. If I had more, I'd wait 2-3 years, but I don't really regret opening my only bottle now.
