September 5, 2020 - Awesome - beautiful mature Cabernet - no green or herbaceous qualities - rich full mouthfeel, soft fine tannins, touch of cedar and tobacco - cork slipped in 1cm when corkscrew inserted so expected trouble - decanted and drunk over next hour - magnificent from first to last drop

December 29, 2012 - Decanted and drunk immediately. The nose is perfect. After all these years still green grass and capsicum of the Coonawarra. Perfectly balanced soft tannins and fruit, the latter dominating. Should be drunk within the next 5 yrs...but who knows. An Australian classic!

March 25, 2012 - Green, bell peppers, underripe, barely drinkable. Even in magnum

March 3, 2006 - The owner of this wine warned us that this would either be herbaceous and horribly under-ripe or would be very good.

If I didn't know the identity of the wine I would have thought the owner was joking if he'd said that it was from 1980 after looking at it. Youthful violet with not the slightest hint of fading or browning. Powerful, beautiful nose of tobacco, ash, tomato leaf, cedar, roast vegetables, blackberries. Palate is vibrant, yet elegant - with all facets having integrated and balanced perfectly - tannins, oak and fruit were all there but acting as one. The finish is amazingly persistent. After 45-60 minutes of breathing, it was just as good if not even better.

In one word, stunning - I could still taste this wine the next morning and couldn't think about anything else on the drive to work or for most of the morning at work.
