Clearly new world with Cassis and blackberry. good amount of spice and fruit on the palate. Strong and chewy tannins. A vanilla cola element as it transitions to the finish. The flavor of the finish is short, but tannins are puckering. Should last longer. |

1/26/2021 - Moselmeister wrote: 93 pointsStill needs some time to open up. Just a great and age-able Syrah. This is flush with a lifted cherry/raspberry quality after a couple hours. Nose also has a little oak and some Brett. It is one of those wines that travels across the whole palate. Really great and fresh. Lively acidity. I wouldn't peg it as a Syrah as it lacks the pepper/smoke quality. It is delicious though. Still wildly drinkable and could probably last a few more years. |

1/26/2021 - Moselmeister wrote: 90 pointsBig nose that is jammy and you get a little of the alcohol. Blackberry, black cherry with a little cedar and vanilla. Palate is jammy and big. Good tannin and structure. Long finish. Chewy. Good wine. Great QPR! |

1/22/2021 - Moselmeister wrote: 87 pointsSame as the below note! He is spot on. I was trying to explain this aspect...but it has this cough syrup/grapey vein that runs through it. I believe it needs more acid. I found the nose great, but the taste is just not there. |

12/20/2020 - Moselmeister Likes this wine: 92 pointsThis is singing on opening. Nose is up front with raspberry and cranberry. A little pepper and ash. Palate is very jammy and fruit forward with some spiciness. Good acidity and a good finish. You do feel the heat just slightly. There is a little herb (dill/basil) as it finishes as well. This is a crowd pleasing zin and drinks great now. Acidity seems to get a little tighter after a couple hours. Good juice. |

12/19/2020 - Moselmeister wrote: flawedThis one is interesting as I am wondering if I have a cooked or bad bottle. It’s not corked. It just tastes “raisiny” or a little “past it’s prime”. I read below and no one else says this. The closest thing is “grapy” by one reviewer. It would be great if someone else tried this and let me know. Anyways, here is the note. 11/15/2020 - Moselmeister Likes this wine: 91 points2nd night. Really opens up and smells sooo good. Baking spices, nutmeg, vanilla, maybe even a little cinnamon. Good fresh black fruits. Good weight on the palate and tastes much fresher than you would expect from the nose. Just a great drinker the 2nd night. |

11/15/2020 - Moselmeister Likes this wine: 89 pointsPopped and let warm up and get a little air. Needs a little time. Smells bright red cherries, cranberries, and lightly spicy oak. Little bit of lifted quality to it. On the palate it has good acidity. Good finish. It has a bit of weight to it, but is dry on the finish. Good overall. Let it sit for a couple hours decant. |

5/27/2018 - Moselmeister Likes this wine: 92 pointsStarted out tight with a crazy mid palate of like black tea and olive. Later in the night (3 hours decanted) its started to be much more brambly, cotton candy on the nose (wild) and have black cherry |

6/6/2011 - Moselmeister wrote: 95 pointsStraight up delicious. Definitely a botrytis wine...great smell of honey and tangerine and peach. On the palate it's all peaches, honey, apricot and it has a smooth and long finish...seriously...I would put it up against any Sauternes:) |

6/1/2011 - Moselmeister wrote: 92 pointsVery bright smelling!!! Sour cherry and strawberry on the palate...hint of dust and classic old world flashes of herbaciousnes/terroir with black tea on the fnish. A great mid-palate for a thinner wine and it just drenches your palate and has a long finish:) it is refreshing and complex and evolves in the glass...QPR city for a lighter red...great for gamay! |

It is like drinking river rocks mixed with ocean shells on your tongue:) the whole nose smell like a floral ocean mixed with an ocean breeze scented laundry detergent! Not as much acidity as a NZ sauv blanc, but medium acidity. Overall fantastic...wish I would have had it with oysters or mussels. |

5/11/2011 - Moselmeister wrote: 88 pointsConfusing wine. At first it was disjointed, and then after a 1-2 hours just opened, the nose got very fragrant and smelled like delicious red strawberries and raspberries, but the wine never got flat out fantastic. Probably not worth the pricepoint. Also, it could probably still age for 5+ more years. It is a little hot for a pinot as well. |
