Fruit is dominated by tart cherry flesh, cherry stone, raspberry, blood orange, dried flowers, and tea tree. Ripe but remains quite fresh. Zippy on the palate. Tannins are still a little powdery but the mouthfeel is fairly supple with a low-to-moderate degree of astringency. Good length. Wine holds up extremely well over 30 hours with very little movement. Drinking well now, but I think this will continue to develop nicely over the coming 5+ years. Very good QPR. |

12/27/2019 - JonathanP Likes this wine: 92 pointsSlow ox’ed for 4 hours before drinking and it was open enough to show some black cherries, earth and some nice rocky detail. Floral too. Nice concentration for the vintage and not overly bright. In fact it’s very well balanced. I think this will be better in a few years but not a crime to open now with a decent airing.

Tannins are fairly resolved and this is now quite lithe on the palate. Perhaps a little too bright without sufficient power for a higher score. Product of the vintage. Very solid wine all up though.
