Deep ruby, some signs of mahaogany to rim. A bit less impressive than a recent bottle, slightly more ullaged. But very good wine. Tons of dark berry fruits, smokiness, asian spices, meats. Tannins still obvious but not overwhelmingly so. Very long. Just starting to get into it's stride, a long way to go.

Came after a big SA CS/Merlot. Nice medium ruby. Fresh, elegant wine. Some red and backberry fruits. touch of smoke and tobacco. Medium bodied, medium length. Very well resolved tannins, smooth. Very nicely balanced. Very pleasant to drink now.

Still a rich deep ruby. Big wine, tons of big black fruits, slightly sweet. still some vanilla from the oak but not oppressive, touch of cedarwood. Good length. Something else there, almost medicinal/iodine but not unpleasant. Big tannins but well smoothed. Reasonably balanced for what is a big wine. Very pleasant.

Nice colour. Not a great deal on the nose. Then it just didn't really work. Wondering about it being mildly corked (or something). There was a core of black fruits, decent tannins and some perhaps over elevated acidity. Then it would just disappear. As I say, strange bottle, try again in a while.

Mid garnet - bright and clear; nose had traces of the forest, red fruits, an earthiness. Tastes included blackberries, black cherries, a spiciness/pepperiness, something earthy almost beetrooty, something floral. It had fine smooth tannins, an elegant balance and a real lively acidity and freshness. In character it had something almost of nebbiolio (without the big tannins) or perhaps even burgundian. Lots of good aromatics and real elegance. Much more refined and lifted than T N from the Douro for example. A very enjoyable and fine wine. Wish I'd bought more bottles.

Not what I expected from a CA chardonnay. Almost thin. Bit of citrus, stony white fruits, then something like bitter almonds on the back.Quite short. But fair acidity, quite fresh, works better with food. Is this CA trying to be more French? If so I'd probably prefer the French version at a similar price (£15 full retail). Drinkable but not hugely enjoyable.

Straw colour, lime and tropical fruits, fair intensity, fair acidity, decent (medium) length. Good but not wonderful. It may well improve. Not bad value either.

Still fairly deep ruby, fading to mahogany. Dark fruits, mulberry and something more smoky or leathery. Decent length (medium), tannins and acid still present but not unpleasantly so. Probably somewhat better than expected, a respectable maturity, some complexity here.

Lemon & acacia nose, bright, plenty of intensity, lemon, honey plus tropical fruits. Touch of minerality. Medium length. A bit more Californian-like than expected. Decent to drink but maybe not to rush back for more.

Bright deep ruby. Nose on opening gave hints of herbs such as thyme. Then dark berries and dark meats, maybe venison. Tons of fruit, plenty acidity, and big tannins. For the first evening it was mainly just a huge tannic wine still backed up by a wall of restrained fruit. Following evening much was resolved. Tannins now much finer and smoother, taste now a mix of red and dark fruits and plenty long. Think this one has many years to go. If drinking now follow MdG advice and decant at least twelve hours.

Deep purple. Very fruity bottle, big dark berries, touch of meatiness. Lots of blackberry fruits, touch of sweet herbs, good length, lovely smooth tannins and well balanced. Quite simple but very enjoyable. Only relative lack of concentration and complexity keeps score down a little.

Mid-gold, bright. Nose is white flowers and lemon. Medium weight, nice balance, touch of honey, some minerality there too. Not a major wine but very good QPR. Look forward to further development, no rush.

Dark ruby, bright, little browning at all. Meaty nose, black and blue berries. In the mouth still full and fruity, black fruits mostly but also other flavours have developed. Dark meats, touch of saddle leather. Good length. Fine acidity and very smooth tannins. Nice balance. Less sweet than a similar level Oz shiraz but definitely "new world". Holding up very well and a good few years to go. Wish I had more bottles.
