1995 Vega Sicila "Unico".

My first true "ultimate bucket list" wine.

Nice! I had Unico twice back in the early 2000's and they were both stunning wines that I still remember.

Amazing, super dupper, beautiful Domaine De Chevalier 2018.........96 pts and this is baseline

La Croix De Ducru Beaucallieu 2018........92 pts

Chateau Musar 2016........no score, this is one of the weirdest wines of my life. I want more definitely. Not for everybody. Very very unique.

I love Gonc Winery's stuff! I can't say that I remember having their dry rose, however. Hope it was good.

Edit - I just checked, and no, among the eight different Gonc offerings I have had, none are the one you mentioned. I have had six bottles of their "Grape Abduction" rose, however. Highly recommended.

2019 Leroy Bourgogne Blanc

Can’t describe how stunning this wine was. I hoped it would be great and it exceeded my expectations. My wife said it was the best bottle of wine we’ve had in the last year…still have 2 more. Grateful to have those. Really hard to find

Voskeni old vines 130 reserve Areni Aghavnadzor from Armenia. I empied the bottle and then I read the description of the wine. Either I am drinking a different bottle or the people that describe the wine were high as a kite when they wrote the descriptors. Literally I was reading something that resembled nothing of what I drank tonight. It says it is full bodied and for me it was hands down the lightest wine I have had in ages !!!!

Armenia is in Europe, and as you have discovered, at least traditionally, "full bodied" in Europe means something quite different from the meaning it has taken in the new world (particularly California) which in European terms is something like "over-ripe, over-extracted bright purple fruit bomb, vaguely similar to wine".

Domaine De Chevalier 2018 & L Esprit de Chevalier 2018. I absolutelu love DC, but this L Esprit is amazing value for the money. It is definitely leaner but for $30 I think it is an extremely great value. Mid 90s for DC and low 90s for L Esprit. Both wine should be better in a few years.

Andersons Conn Valley 2007........95 pts, at peak, very good wine. Elegance 101

Domaine De La Janesse 2019 ChDP......this wine will be a 95 pointer in 10 years, right now its a 91 or 92. This wine has teenager issues that have to be resolved

2013 Massolino Barbera d'Alba. It is just old enough that it is now taking on that Italian oxidative note that delights me very much!

Yes, bring it on if you wish, but Caymus 2012 40th aniv was dead on delicious !!!!

Night of mermelade wine with a few marsupials. No French , no Italian, No Spanish wine, we wanted to taste and drink FAKE deep purple juice.

Caymus 40 th Aniv 2012..........93 pts. VERY VERY good.

Austin Hope 2019......91 pts.

Post and Beam cab sauv 2019 from Far Niente...........91 pts.

Caymus was indeed a great wine maybe 10 or so years ago. Today we had the oportunity to drink the 2012 and it was singing. I prefer to drink this style of wine than many others. and no, it was not a fake sugary in excess wine, it was delicious. The Austin Hope very one dimension but it was also delicious. I am glas I have about a case left.

I can drink this kind of liquid or a tight St Emilion and be happy. There is nothing wrong with Caymus pre 2012.......

Yet another excellent Italian white - it is a crying shame that Italian whites don't feature more in discussions here (albeit that the names take a load of bandwidth)! This evening it was a 2020 Marotti Campi Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Riserva Salmariano. Excellent value at ~US$16.

(Sadly, WSP tells me that it's only available in Italy, France and Hong Kong!)

(Except, utterly bizarrely, by a website called CaskCartel which offers it in the US at US$479.99!)
