I just listened to one of the most striking and beautiful songs I ever heard. It is, apparently, from Georgia, in the Caucasus Mountains. Here's the YouTube link, if you'd like to listen:

თუ ასე ტურფა იყავი.ჰამლეტ გონაშვილი

I know nothing about these people or their music. Google isn't much help. Here's how Google Translate renders the lyrics:

If you were so turf
Rad could not notice Yao
As for that love
Do not open my heart

Now I met another gardener
I am confused by allergies,
Sweetly mamigurgura
I lost it on the skirt.

If you were so turf
Rad could not notice Yao
As for that love
Do not open my heart

Forgot that I will go to my first concert in 2 years tomorrow to hear Al DiMeola perform at the Blue Note. Maybe he will perform a tribute to Chick.

dontime, is Art Pepper's Tutu the same or similar to Miles Davis' Tutu album?

It's the same. Had my music mis-labeled. You would have thought I would have noticed...

Has Yossarian recommended Sleaford Mods to you yet? A great opportunity to channel your English despair and opposition of the ruling class.

To calm and ease my brain down after being on overload all week, a mix of Dave Brubeck, Miles with a little Diana Krall thrown in. Krall will be in NJ in April and I would to get some tickets as I have never heard her perform live.

Been slowly loading all my music onto my computer and creating some mixes that i can store on data sticks which is perfect for the new car.

Today i was creating some mixes with Genesis & Phil Collins....definite more old school but still good music. Maybe tomorrow i will load everything from Journey

Yesterday was a visit to "A Salty Dog" (1969) by Procol Harum.

Thinking about Gary Brooker on his passing.

Vietnamese traditional music is underappreciated (indeed, mostly unknown) in the West. It's going great with my FFP Duvel. Have a listen.

Traditional Vietnamese Folk Music

Thanks for that, Eddie. One of the instruments reminds me of slide guitar and another of Hungarian cembalon music. There's also a section with two oboe/shawm type instruments that have a passing resemblance to Native American singing. I studied some Vietnamese court music at university. The Vietnamese Water Puppets (with accompanying music) also came to Adelaide for the Adelaide Festival some years ago and they were one of the highlights of the festival.

I'm listening to it with Heady Topper.

Found this buried on Page 6.

On this day in 1979, saw Supertramp in concert at the Sam Houston Coliseum in Houston, Texas.

It was their “Breakfast In America” tour.

Music mix for my latest marathon was a 1:30 mix of angry and mostly upbeat tunes for the 2nd half of the race. Several songs by Filter, Ministry and some bonus tracks from Peter Murphy, Green Day and James.

Fifty-five years ago today, mrs dontime and I attended a Monkees concert with The Jimi Hendrix Experience as the opening act. An odd pairing to say the least.
