2003 Three Rivers Winery Meritage

Beat ya - 5:01 Twenty Bench Cab (although the Three Rivers was probably much better).

Just after 3pm I was at a retail wine tasting just outside Chicago.  Ended up buying a 1999 Quinault l'Enclos and picked up almost 2 cases of my 2008 Bordeaux futures that had arrived.   No idea where I'm going to put them however....

Outstanding news! Crappy weeks are to be expected among the more aventurous of us all... Not that any of us want such a verdict, but such is life. The more important question is whether or not Grand Cru is more impotent than Cayuses and what we can do about it!

Well said!  It puts me in mind of a saying from climbing circles:  if you're not flyin' (i.e., falling) you're not tryin'!

Now, I'm not sure I'm prepared to discuss the impotence of Grand Cru or Cayuse, but I can tell you that, on glass three (small pours) of the Cayuse, my mood is vastly improved!

The big day today was after two years of cataloguing over 1000 pieces of art, we had the curator of Marilyn's museum and my museum over to our home to study the collection and make preliminary decisions on what they might want individually at ou respective museums... Will rewrite time upon us!

A client of mine had a Festivus celebration & barbecue, so I stuck with beer.

Nice Freestate offering from Lawrence, Kansas.

They even had the required aluminum Festivus pole at the event!

Woe be unto he who drinks two bottles of wine by 3 p.m. then has to work all night, for that is my sorry lot in life.

Of course, tomorrow is another day.

A wonderful business lunch with the client at a superb Tapas/Moorish cuisine - with a glass of Izadi Rioja Cianza that worked perfectly with the tapas.
Post-lunch snooze coming on now at my desk while trying to work on a presentation called "Delivering Business Capabilities for Banking, Risk & Treasury". zzzzzzz.

Colonel, you really sure you want to shake that V&t?

<Sigh>

There are many benefits to living in California (the weather, the beach, the wine, the weather...), but this thread, particularly as I sit here working on a presentation on the future state of IT for annuities platforms (feeling your pain, pjaines), is painful every Friday.

Now that is hardcore ob2s! But you get the award for first on our shore to crack open the juice today... Colonel wins by virtue of the addition of the V&T... but the Tapas sounds mighty tasty.

Enjoying a "furlough" day today while getting a ton of stuff done... will celebrate my "good boy" status around 5-ish+or- with a vodka martini and then go from there... fish on the horizon tonight.
