Flight 1 (4 Notes)

  • 2012 Chateau Musar Blanc

    Lebanon, Bekaa Valley

    (5/19/2023)

Spiky - a hint of mouldy walnut to it. Imagine it just needs time.

  • 2020 Lismore Chenin Blanc The Phoenix

South Africa, Cape South Coast, Overberg, Greyton

    (5/19/2023)

House wine at the moment. Lovely acidic zip to it, a deceptively generous feeling in the mouth and a nice finish. I sent a pair of these to my sister for her birthday by mistake (having intended to send a more expensive wine) and she loved them and has repeatedly dropped the hint that she might tolerate more...at under 12 in the bottle this is a billy bargain.

  • 2016 Chateau Musar

    Lebanon, Bekaa Valley

    (5/19/2023)

Very clean for a Musar. Some gaminess, and really intense plum notes on the palate. On the finish there’s a tightness - spice and (for Musar) pretty prominent tannins. I think this has a good life ahead of it but drinking well now. At todays prices maybe it gets harder to justify but this is a lovely Musar.

  • 2016 Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco

    (5/19/2023)

Very vibrant nose - spicy with a hint of strawberry. On the palate - some fruit, sour cherry marzipan with some leather and a hint of red fruit on the finish.
