Mini-ESTG Chicken Dinner

Just a little chicken dinner. Two chickens roasted nicely. And all of the veggies.

As I was finishing up dinner, just a little something electric to sip on.

• 2004 Joh. Jos. Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett

  Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

  Hot mama, I need to drink more Prüm Kabinett. This was Prüm and proper. Some diesel, some sulphur, proper acidity, sweet, sour, salty, just so refreshing and mouthwatering. This is electric, still young, so pure.

• 2014 Arterberry Maresh Pinot Noir Maresh Vineyard

  USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills

  Mmm, so lovely, hints of stem, pale and hauntingly mineral, reserved and restrained, very pure, delicate and precise red fruit. Beautiful wine.

• 2015 Penner-Ash Pinot Noir Zena Crown Vineyard

  USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Eola - Amity Hills

  Hoo, big, ripe, a touch of volatility, dried fruit, more of a blackberry element. Perfect cork. Wine bought on release and stored perfectly since. Just not what I am looking for in Oregon Pinot.

  France, Burgundy, Côte Chalonnaise, Mercurey 1er Cru

  Mmmm, what a nose! Soaring cherry. So light and pure on the palate, fine and silky, mineral backbone. Dusty finish. Lovely.

• 2019 Domaine Roblet-Monnot Volnay 1er Cru Taillepieds

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru

  Mmmm, there is a lot here, fruit leaning to more full and dark, very mouthfilling, dusty, sneaky yet fine tannins. A nice herbal backdrop, actually a lot of structure on this, really rather masculine, but I guess it is Volnay after all.
