  • Pnp'd into a decanter for 1-2 hours for family in town for my other son's wedding. Sampled the first hour and it's as follows:

Dark purple in the glass, nose notes of sweet cassis, dark blackberry fruit and a palate that is dense and powerful and smooth yet with a touch of tightness/astringency. 94 then....

By hour 2, this blossoms into a real beauty. I really can't add much to all those who've recently noted the benefits to popping one of these. This turns so very smooth at hours 2-3, the astringency leaves, the fruit deepens further, just yummy! Really enjoyed by three of us and gone far too soon. 96+/97 at the end.

  • Decanted this for 2 hours. Drank over another hour while we watched the Christmas boat parade on Lake Mission Viejo.

This wine was purple in color. On the nose raspberry, blueberry, violets, and caramel with a touch of heat. The same notes on the palate adding potpourri and tobacco. There was a touch of alcohol on first sip but it resolved over the hour of drinking. This wine had good acidity giving this wine a nice freshness.

This wine has a silky texture and goes down pretty easy. This was thoroughly enjoyed by the other two couples we were with. Tough to beat sitting outside on a lake next to a fire pit drinking a great wine with good friends. 95+

  • 90-minute decant. Nearly opaque vibrant magenta color. Boysenberry, blackberry, sour cream old fashioned donut, bay leaf, chamomile tea, pencil lead, and subtle toffee. Dry palate, with vibrant acidity. Very firm, full tannins on the longish finish.

This took a modest step backward since I last had it almost a year ago, but it’ll certainly rebound. Longer decant could help. The sour cream donut evolved into crème brûlée over an hour of drinking. Palate and finish still very youthful/intense.

  • Double decanted the night before - delicious dark fruit, warm texture, integrated oak. Unmistakably American fruit, but with impressive balance.

  • Whoa, such a good wine and only going to get better with time in the cellar.

Decanted for two hours and each sip was more delicious than the previous one. So glad I have many more of these, and I would guess that my Maggie could potentially be a 30 year wine...

LPB's TN below perfectly summarizes the notes in this one...

"Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras explodes with vibrant scents of blackcurrant preserves, wild blueberries, candied violets and Indian spices, plus wafts of potpourri and tobacco leaf. The full-bodied palate is packed with rich, perfumed black fruit preserves flavors, framed by firm, grainy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long with a whole array of mineral and exotic spice sparks. (LPB) 96+ " (11/2021)
