Showing beautifully right now. Wouldn't keep it longer though, there's a touch of age both colorwise and on the nose. But just a touch, nothing really detracting from beautiful secondary aromas and lingering tannins.

What a beautiful mature barolo. This has great fruit with bright acidity. What wins my vote however is the dark earth, volcanic stone and rosehip. Just delicious secondary and tertiary nuances from late body through finish. Not sure age will help this much as fruit is declining.

Drinking beautifully here though clearly needs food and over an hour of slow ox. This is what you want from a Barolo, though the acidity demanded hearty foods with some fat, like wild boar ragu. I didn’t pick up much floral with the wine and felt it pushed more to purple than red early on the palate.

I love this wine with food (which the acidity demands). You want your roses with tar with bright purple fruit that shifts to red on the finish? This is archetypical Barolo that’s in a nice place with 20 minutes of decanted breathing.
