This had a lot of positive aspects to it but I found that the fruit was a tad on the pruney side and the wine didn't carry its abundant alcohol in balance. Likely would have been much better in its first 3-4 years.

7/22/07: Much evolved from the last botlle which we drank almost two years ago. Color is approaching rusty, and the nose is almost burgundian with spice and earth in front of nice cherry notes. The acidity is much more in balance now, with good backbone of fruit, plums, cocoa and earth. Medium to long nice finish.

Surprisingly pale color. also subdued aromatic start with equal amount of red fruit and spice. Some cherry and berry but without the intensity I'd expect from Martinelli. Drink up.

Pleasant pinot. The hot finish detracted from the overall performance. Disappointing though. I'll let the other sleep for a while.
