Beautiful wine. A bit of reduction at first in the form of tire and bacon but blows off quickly and is just gorgeous. Secondary on the nose, mostly, with savory tones but there is still some gentle dark fruit and dried red flowers. It’s such a harmonious and seamless nose, all class, and with real depth and impact. This all carries through the palate, which is balanced and pungent while still so very elegant. First class wine.
Medium red-garnet color. Aroma immediate and on the meaty and smoky side,. Balanced mouthfeel. Rich, long finish. Consumed over five evenings, improved each day. Recorked and kept cold each day. Bottle #10 of twelve.

Medium garnet-red. Wicked-good violets, smoked bacon and beef roast nose, with mixed mints, dried cherry and scorched raspberry tart. On arrival, low tannin and medium-low acidity; lithe, almost delicate structure. Meat-y flavors repeat in the mouth, very comforting and enjoyable if also lacking much depth or complexity. Good not great finish, with a little acid kick-up right at the end. Bottle #8 of 12.

Perhaps a bit past its prime but still wonderful. Jammy fruit on opening dissipated, leaving some earthiness and a velvety finish. Decanted for 30 minutes

Double decanted and poured soon after. Could have used more air as rather mono-toned initially, but grew over a couple of hours with food. Nicely put together and will gain interest with time although no harm in drinking now. Very classic cote rotie.
