  • Third of 3, and the elements here continue blazing, in fact, needing about an hour to synch then holding well over 3 nights. As noted in my second TN, the savory component has become particular prominent, presenting as campfire embers/smoked meats, along with more customary AdV notes. Worked really well with burritos, not so much with chicken soup, but was also really enjoyable to sip on its own. If scoring, a bit lower than prior bottles (94-95ish) and bringing in my drinking window by 3 years, but at around my price, still wildly recommended.

  • Still going strong with notes to last bottle I tried over a year ago. Dense dark fruit with lush, velvety mouthfeel, soft tannins with long finish.

  • One-hour decant through a screened and aerating funnel. Some sediment. Wine was clear, deep garnet from bowl to rim with a medium halo. During decant, distinct smokey aromas came fourth. After resting: herbs, smoke, cherries and Christmas pudding. In the mouth: wine was powerful: dark fruits, balsamic, wood and ash. Very well integrated, powerful but wonderful to drink. An iron fist in a velvet glove, so to speak. Alcohol was not really noticeable. But this wine cries out for food or a powerful cheese. Plenty of time left.

  • Sweet cherry fruit and some oxidation (in a good way). Lovely acidity and it feels lush to drink right now.
The alcohol is dominating a bit but overall, a very nice wine.

  • Drinking nicely right now. Lovely dense and candied cherry fruit with a good acidity and depth. A touch of vanilla and the alcohol seems nicely integrated.
