Consumed over 2 days (vacuvined and refrigerated), note from day 2. Nose: High intensity, bright red cherry, rose bush, and shoe polish - wow the cherry notes explode from the glass. Palate: Medium-full bodied, superb balance and structure, red and blue fruit attack, with wonderful rocky earth (licorella) notes joining in thru the mid-palate in perfect harmony, tertiary mushroom and forest floor notes joining in the back-end. Finish: Lengthy, 45-60 seconds, of all palate flavors in harmonious bliss. A wonderful wine that I believe I caught at its peak.

Second time I have this wine. Nose with fine oak spices, perfume, roses, cherries, plums, some acetone and hints of (but not over the top) high alcohol. The palate displays peppery red berries and fine ripe darker cherries, darker plum fruit, good tannin structure with harsh and grippy tannins, and a fine length and balanced structure. Again signs of alcohol, but not hot or over the top. Some oak spices coming thru, but within the level of acceptable, and with time my guess is that this will turn out as a really good and enjoyable wine. Perhaps ending up around 91 points a few years from now? Also, this was my wine of the night in tonight’s blind tasting of 10 mixed bottles from all over the world. (not counting the two fabulous bottles of Champagne, that was bonuses, and outside the tasting) Points given for tonight’s performance. Nice Priorat.

The nose is very spicy, with quite heavy burnt oak, dense dark fruit, plums, some herbs and alcohol. Better on the palate, with some heat from the alcohol, somewhat sweet and deep dark plum fruit. Overall a decent wine, that went fine with some cheeses, salami and prosciutto as a starter of a good dinner. A bit too heavy, dense and oaky for my taste at this point, but it would be interesting to drink again, in about 10 years, since I do believe this would survive extended cellaring, and benefit from it.
