  What a pleasant surprise. This zin from magnum was opened at noon, slo-ox for 5 hours, full decant for 1 hour. The nose was red and dark fruits, oak, some secondary notes, medium to full bodied with resolved sweet, smooth tannins, smooth mouthfeel and long finish. Dare I say it was sophisticated and a tad elegant. A very pleasing and surprising wine.

  Dark in the center to bright red on the sides. Plumb hits the nose a foot from the glass. Drinking well. Still lots of energy in the bottle. Bella's zins always seem to edgy for the first few years. Light to medium bodied for a zin. Raspbery, Luden's cherry, leather baseball glove and cocoa flavors. The finish lingers a long time.

  Nice peppery nose, blackberry, spice and pepper on the finish. We decanted for an hour, scoring about 3 hours later. This bottle is a little acidic and not as big and bold as we think of Big River Ranch zins.

  I agree with the back label, this is a show stopper. We sampled this at the Winery in 2009 and brought back a bottle to sit in for a couple of years. It was worth the wait. Big dark red fruit and a hint of vanilla on the nose. Cherries and rasberries on the palate, silky smooth, tannins still present but well integrated. The finish was long and peppery.
