Nice wine. Starting to show some bricking. Cherry and earth nose with deep raspberry and spice palate and a light cedar-cigarbox medium length finish. Finish is slightly hot, reflecting the 15 ABV. Paired nicely with beet carpaccio with chevre croquette and duck confit with cherry port reduction. Showed the RRV terroir well. Sadly this was the last of the Gunsalus.

Pork roast: Butternut squash soup: Bright and fresh raspberry/cherry aromas and flavors. Firm structure. Went fruity when needed, solid with pork. I enjoy the aromas alone. And then the flavors step up in a variety of ways. Just a very good wine.

Opened 2 hours before drinking. Berry aromas and flavors are bright and delicious, but there is a mineral back taste that seems too harsh for turkey. Ideal for ribs? 2 hours later, the aromas were even more intense, with a still bright flavor with much less mineral. I like the aromas the most. Fantastic.

Had with pork for Xmas dinner. Hint of pepper, enjoyable, more than just drinkable.

Winery Tasting: A bright, lively in-your-face cherry bomb that delights you at first but might be too much for a whole meal.
