opaque purple/black, forward nose of blueberry/blackberry jam with some spice and pepper, some warm earthiness, just barely enough acidity to maintain balance but teetering on the edge, sweet alcohol with jammy fruit, full throttle Paso-style ripe zin. 2G (Republic, 20.50)

EOTC Zin/Primitivo Tasting (Paul's): "D" Big nose of fruit, jam. Sweet and jammy but with some nice backbone. Tastes like high alcolhol, but very well balanced. Nice tannins and backbone. A touch of smoke. Young and huge.

Past prime, as predicted. Good nose, not as good on tongue. Still very drinkable. Touch of raisin on top of Zin flavors.

Nice aged Zin. Spice, nice balance, fruit still showing, soft tannins.
