Pour through Vinturi for splash decant ... This was my first Maison Bleue and I was suitably impressed. Ruby red in the glass, with raspberry and strawberry on the nose and palate. Rich and lean at the same time, this is clearly well-crafted with a bit of earth, spice and bacon fat on the back end. Medium-long dry finish and not at all oaky or sweet. Really lovely birthday wine. ... Susan's birthday 2012.

Very sweet, almost a bit cloying. Once it sits out a while, it gets a lot more layered and subtle.

Quite funky, lots of earth, barnyard and pepper. Sweeter blackberry fruit, and lighter than most Syrah's from WA. Good stuff!
