  • Ripe, hedonistic Barossa shiraz. Clocks in at 15%. Waves of fruit lash the palate and there is a spirity oak presence. Chock full of flavour. Heartburn wine. While my palate has changed a lot since I last drank this in 2010, I think this was better as a younger wine. While good within its genre, you have to like the genre to like the wine. It's not for me.

  • Nose of ripe, but not overripe, dark fruit. Oak has a presence but is restrained. Nice palate weight with lots of depth. The ripe tannins provide a smooth, rounded mouthfeel. The is much more to this wine than the modern monolithic fruit bombs that some produce in SA.
