Opened last bottle (a magnum) for Christmas, and it did not disappoint. It's in a great place right now, and not at all over the hill. Good color, with no sign of it oxidize on the rim (the cork was in perfect condition). Excellent dark fruit profile with an extended finish. Fantastic. Surprisingly better than the 2005 at a similar age.

Drank this with a grilled beef filet. Delicious mature cab with loads of concentrated fruit plus complexity. Q creek rarely disappoints. OPen it an hour before drinking. Drink or Hold

In 2009, Mr. Robert Parker rated this wine 100 points, so I am told. And, who am I to disagree. This wine was simply amazing and paired perfectly with prime rib. Mild to moderate sediment. No flaws. Moderate rim variation in the glass. Dark, ruby garnet color. Amazing nose and taste of dark fruits and florals. Low tannin. Low acid. Medium alcohol. Long, long finish. New world taste and nose, but, aged like a French Bordeaux. As stated paired perfectly with prime rib. Well within drinking window. Peak, I don't know. Life left - plenty. Got one to go and will probably not taste for 4-5 years.

(Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley) When initially opened, the nose is locked up pretty tightly but shows black licorice, sweet oak spices, light herbal notes, and powdered chocolate. Big, intense, and gorgeously structured on what feels like a punch to the palate. Intense layers of fruit and tannins almost overwhelm the senses. After decanting for five to eight hours, mocha powder and dried black cherries also emerge. A richly layered wine with intense cherry flavors. Occasionally shows some alcohol. Champoux, Klipsun, and Taptiel vineyards. Aged in 100% new French oak for 22 months. Bottled August 2008; released in April 2009.
(Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley) A dark, brilliant wine. A rich nose with cassis, vanilla, chocolate, and fresh ground pepper. A fair amount of alcohol shows at times, perhaps due to the temperature. Surprising amounts of chocolate and an interesting spice component – nutmeg? Light herbal notes also emerge. Dense and rich. Considerably more integrated than the red wine at present. This is a beautiful wine that perfectly combines power and elegance. Will benefit from significant additional bottle time. 97% Cabernet; 3% Merlot. Champoux, Klipsun, and Taptiel Vineyards. 15.2% alcohol. Sampled at 69 degrees.
