Cork came out like a dry fart- Ruh Rho... But alas this was indeed alive. Nice red fruits on the nose, cherries, plums, soy sauce. More rustic on the palate with tons of mushrooms, dirt, a touch of coco and coffee, cranberries and orange peel darting around the edges with a bright lingering finish. A bit cloudy in appearance and not overly charismatic but pure and alive.. really nice.. Still drinking well 30+ minutes in...

Last bottle of the six I purchased at the winery while on a business trip to Portland. Medium garnet color. Nose opened with some spicy, earthy, cherry flavors that were also present in the flavor. Very smooth with layers of cherry like fruit. At the time preferred this to the long lived 1988 reserve. My 1988 Ponzi Reserve lasted through 2012.

Very drinkable and still has life. Secondary notes on the nose. Lacks mid-palate depth and fruit. On the downhill run, but still enjoyable.

This bottle was toast. Cork was good, maybe it was an off bottle. We'll see how the next one is soon.
