A deep purple, with slow legs, the wine had some sediment as it was poured. Notes of blackberry, raspberry and plum, gave way to a rounded blackberry and oak palate for this medium to full bodied wine. There was a nice finish, leaving you wanting more...and with a 1.5 L size, there was enough to share and enjoy!

Pleasant nose of cherry, plum, tobacco, cassis, currant and other dark fruits. Whiff of cedar too. Very nice weight to the mouth feel. Velvet up front which transitions into a nice healthy tannin bite along with acids to balance the fruit. In the mouth, initial fruit, dry cedar, tar, tobacco, eucalyptus and sage. I'm looking for vanilla from oak but not finding it. Cannot tell if some of the tannins are from oak or not. All flavors are somewhat austere instead of plush. Like some wines coming from that side of the Napa bench, it has a dusty quality to it. Not as pronounced as other wines I've had from higher up off the valley floor, but its in there for sure. Finish is medium + but I can see how some folks might think this wine shorter than it is, as the intensity drops quite a bit after the initial flavor onset passes. You have to pay attention to this wine to capture its more subtle qualities. I sense this wine would be easily overpowered by other strong flavors. This wine has complexity, nuance and length. Very good overall.

Still tannic but nothing overpowering. Nice fruit and a beautiful garnet color. Wish I had a few more.

Drink now and enjoy a great Napa cab. A bit less complex than the previous bottle consumed a year earlier.
